Denis Lebedev announces his retirement

The owner cruiserweight world title Denis Lebedev (32-2, 23 KOs) announced the his retirement. The 39-year-old Russian last time fought last November, beating Mike Wilson on points.

In recent months, Lebedev was offered fights with Lawrence Okolie and Arsen Gulamiryan, but financial conditions of the proposals was not satisfied for the Russian in both cases, and were rejected.

Lebedev has performed in professional boxing since February 2001. In recent years, his activity significantly dropped due to health problems. The Russian lost in his career only to Marco Hook, Murat Gassiev and Guillermo Jones, and this loss latter was canceled because of a positive doping test of Jones.
