On September 7 in Glasgow there will be an elimination bout for the title of the official challenger for the WBA lightweight title between two former world champions in three weight categories - Ricky Burns (43-7-1, 16 KOs) and Jorge Linares (45-5, 28 KOs).
For 33-year-old Linares it will be a return to the ring after an unexpected defeat in January to Pablo Cesar Cano. Burns last boxed in November last year, winning by TKO over Scott Cardle.
The championship belt of World Boxing Association in 135 belongs to Vasyl Lomachenko. The Ukrainian will fight next on August 31 in London. His opponent will be the local Luke Campbell.
