Redkach stops Alexander in the 6th

Ukrainian Ivan Redkach (23-4-1, 18 KO) scored a major victory in his professional career, when he stopped in the sixth round the former champion Devon Alexander (27-6-1, 14 KO) in the main event at the casino Soboba in San Jacinto, California.

Redkach was able to land to the target a precise uppercut through the guard of Alexander and sent him in the first knockdown. Alexander rose, but remained clearly hurt, and Redkach continued to attack, it was a cross that sent the Americans into the second knockdown. A series of heavy blows forced Alexander to fell on the floor for the third time and the referee stopped the fight. The time was 1:10.

For Redkach it was the first fight in the 147, and in the corner the stars helped him, the coach Shane Mosley and reigning champion Leo Santa Cruz.

Alexander looked decent for five rounds and was also marked by star in his corner, Roy Jones Jr., but it was not enough, and Alexander earned a second consecutive defeat, and perhaps the reasons for retirement.
