Kubrat Pulev (27-1, 14 KOs) stopped Bogdan Dinu (18-2, 14 KOs) in the seventh round in the main event of the evening in Costa Mesa, California. The fight ended after a series of right hands of the Bulgarian boxer.
The first minutes of the battle were equal. Dinu successfully counterattacked, and after one of his exact blows, Pulev received a cut over his left eyebrow. Pulev tried to attack and exert pressure, but his actions were inaccurate.
In the seventh round, Pulev finally hurt his opponent several times. Dinu was locked in a corner, and when he finally knelt, Pulev hit him on the back of the head and was fined one point. Sometime later, the Bulgarian was allowed to continue, and Dinu fell twice on the floor. After the third knockdown of the Romanian boxer, the referee stopped the bout.
37-year-old Pulev is the official challenger for the IBF belt, owned by Anthony Joshua. It is possible that in his next professional battle, the Cobra will again try to meet with the Englishman.
