“The Ring” journalist Mike Coppinger, citing his sources, said that the undisputed cruiserweight champion Oleksander Usyk (16-0, 12 KOs) will face Carlos Takam (36-5-1, 28 KOs). Fighters’ teams have reportedly reached an agreement.
The fight will be one of the main events of the boxing evening from DAZN, scheduled for May 18 in Chicago. Previously it was announced that Alexander Povetkin could become an opponent for Usyk.
Interestingly, the fight for the WBC heavyweight belt between Deontay Wilder (40-0-1, 39 KOs) and Dominic Breazeale (20-1, 18 KOs) will take place in Brooklyn on the same day. DAZN competitor, Showtime, will show this event in a broadcast from New York.
