Shlemenko may fight in Chelyabinsk after the cancellation of Alexander Emelianenko bout

Russian MMA fighter Alexander Shlemenko may lead the Russian Cagefighting Championship (RCC) on May 4 after the cancellation of the bout of Alexander Emelianenko. "I told the RCC that I am ready to fight," said Shlemenko. The battle of Emelianenko was canceled due to his administrative arrest in Pyatigorsk, Russia.

On March 1, Emelianenko was detained and taken to the police custody in Kislovodsk after a traffic accident. According to preliminary information, he was in a state of intoxication. It was also reported that the 37-year-old athlete fled the scene.

A court in Kislovodsk arrested the fighter for 10 days.

The RCC tournament is scheduled for May 4 in Chelyabinsk, Russia.
