Gassiev: "I don’t need Usyk without titles"

Former cruiserweight champion Murat Gassiev recalled the defeat in the WBSS finals to Oleksandr Usyk and spoke about a possible rematch with the Ukrainian.

“I don’t like Usyk’s style, because I myself wouldn’t have been able to box like that,” said Gassiev. “At the time of the WBSS final, he simply turned out to be the best boxer. If we have a rematch, it’s good. But if he loses his titles I will not be interested in fight with him."

“That defeat, naturally, was unpleasant. Boxing is no wrestling. This is such a defeat that throws you back. And whether you can reach this level again or not, only God knows. I realize this situation - I accepted that I lost. But in no case I give up, the desire was not lost," said Gassiev.
