Commey destroys Chaniev in two rounds

In one of the main events of a boxing night in Frisco, Texas, Richard Commey (28-2, 25 KOs) scored a stoppage victory in the second round over Isa Chaniev (13-2, 6 KOs), got the vacant IBF lightweight title, and now can become an opponent for the unified champion Vasyl Lomachenko in his April fight.

Already in the first round, Commey managed to send Chaniev to the floor with a precise right punch. The Russian was able to rise, and survived to the end of the round, but in the next three minutes again Chaniev fell from the left hook. Chaniev did not have time to recover and the referee stopped the bout at 0:39.
