The fighters did not spend much time on reconnaissance and started the battle very actively. In one of the moments, Dillashow lost his balance after a push and, rising to his feet, missed a couple of precise punches, and fell on the floor. Cejudo began to finish off his opponent mercilessly, not giving him the opportunity to defend. At the 30th second of the bout the referee was forced to intervene.
After the fight Dillashow did not look hurt and tried to protest the decision of the referee.
