WBA and WBO lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko (12-1, 9 KOs) told about the reasons that do not allow him to fight against WBC title holder Mikey Garcia (39-0, 30 KOs) in the nearest future.
“Now the main issue is again the weight category. Mikey goes to the next weight and thus he tells us: ‘Do you want to fight? Come up to us.’ Will I rise now to 140? I have another way and other plans. I am not ready to do that now. So for now this fight is postponed. But, again, he did not give up his WBC lightweight title. If he stays in 135, then yes, I’m interested. If he stays in 140, I will come, but not today."
In March Garcia will rise in weight in two categories up to welterweight and will meet IBF champion Errol Spence (24-0, 21 KOs).
“Let's wait for the fight with Errol Spence. After that, it will be clear about his further. Garcia will lose this fight. I also think that he will lose it convincing,” said Lomachenko.
