Shevchenko beats Jedrzejczyk, becomes flyweight champion
As part of the UFC 231 show in Toronto, Canada, Valentina Shevchenko defeated Joanna Jedrzejczyk in a duel for the vacant belt in the flyweight division.
Already at the beginning of the second minute, Shevchenko transferred the fight to the ground without any problems, but after a minute, Jedrzejczyk managed to get to her feet. Shevchenko had the advantage near the net, and then the athletes continued the battle in the stand - Valentine acted more precisely.
The course of the battle did not change in the second round: Jedrzejczyk worked as the first number from long range, throwing a lot of strikes, and Shevchenko carried out attacks less frequently, but more effectively. In the fourth minute, Valentina again beautifully cast Joanna to the ground, recording active work in the side controls.
A native of Kyrgyzstan continued to adhere to the plan for the fight in the third round, allowing her Polish opponent to work actively, but at the same time counterattacking with powerful batches.
The final 5 minutes were completely for Valentina. She again carried out the takedowns, brought the work on the ground and the clinch to herself, and also acted more successfully in the stand.
