Top American lightweights Tony Ferguson and Anthony Pettis in the co-main event of the UFC 229 tournament gave fans an incredible and entertaining match.

Ferguson from the first seconds occupied the center of the octagon and began to tirelessly put pressure on his opponent. Tony changed racks, made successful front-kick and low-kicks, and often delivered direct punches to the target. Anthony tried not to wait and acted on the counterattacks, but he had little to do. The first five minutes was completely for Ferguson.

At the beginning of the second round, Pettis managed to send Ferguson to the florr twice in a row - Tony escaped with his trademark flips. Pettis dragged his opponent to the ground, but he could not finish him and the fighters continued the battle on their feet. In the fight there was a pause, which clearly went into the hands of Ferguson. Tony with the same pressure and passion began to go forward and almost the entire remaining time of the round in every possible way destroyed Pettis near the net. Anthony tried to answer and managed to "survive" to the bell.

Immediately after the completion of the second round, the corner of Pettis demanded to stop the fight. Thus, Ferguson was awarded a victory by technical knockout.
