Okolie beats Askin despite three point deduction

In one of the undercard fights at the Wembley Stadium in London, in the very unspectacular confrontation, Lawrence Okolie (10-0, 7 KOs) scored a unanimous decision over Matty Askin (23-4-1, 15 KOs) and took his British cruiserweight title. The scores were: 116-110, 114-112, 114-113.

During the boring 12 rounds, the 25-year-old Okolie did "a little more than nothing," which, however, was enough to defeat Askin. In the fifth, eighth and eleventh round, the referee Victor Loughlin took points from Okolie. The first time - for dangerous actions by the head, the second - for the holding, the third - for holding and hitting.
