Japanese veteran of the MMA Norifumi Yamamoto dies

At the age of 41, one of the most stellar Japanese MMA fighters of the beginning of the century Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto passed.

The cause of death was an oncological disease, which the athlete publicly announced in August. The message posted on Yamamoto's official Twitter account expressed gratitude to the fans of the fighter who supported him in his fight against cancer.

Throughout his professional career, Yamamoto had 26 fights, having scored 18 wins (13 by knockout) and suffered six defeats. The Japanese acted under the banner of the Shooto organizations, K-1, Hero's and UFC.
