Murat Gassiev held the final fight of the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) with Alexander Usyk with a hand injury, the severity of which was underestimated. This is the opinion of the Russian coach Vitaly Slanov.
"If we knew what level of injury Murat had, the fight, of course, would have been postponed. They did not know that the ligaments were torn, that the tendon was torn. With such a hand, it was pointless to fight, there was absolutely no left hand," Slanov said.
Slanov added that Murat complained of pain in his hand before the battle: "But he was told to endure, and he endured. They were too sure that Murat would come up with something, he would still punch."
