Ivan Kirpa, the coach of former world heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin (34-1, 24 KOs), said that he was pleased with the first stage of preparation of his ward, which was held in Kislovodsk, Russia. On September 22 at Wembley Arena in London, Povetkin will try to take away the titles from WBA, IBF and WBO champion Anthony Joshua (21-0, 20 KOs).
"The first stage of preparation for the fight with Joshua ended. The camp went well, and we are satisfied with our work - the goals have been achieved," Kirpa said. “Alexander is a real professional. He understands the seriousness and importance of the upcoming battle, so we worked very responsibly. I am very pleased with the results of the camp."
