The American fighter Nick Newell, whose left arm is amputated to the elbow, will not be able to make his debut at the UFC tournament, as reported by the head of the fight promotion, Dana White.

"I have a lot of respect for Nick and therefore gave him the chance to compete for getting into the UFC in the Dana White's Contender Series. But the UFC is a dangerous and very complex event, even for fighters with two hands and two legs. In the Dana White's Contender Series, Newell had to show if he could get into the UFC or not, and the fighter was unable to do that," said White.

Currently, on Nick Newell’s record there are already 16 fights in mixed martial arts with only two defeats, one of them at the Dana White's Contender Series.
