As it was informed last week former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold got injured and would not be able to make his debut in the light heavyweight division on August 4 at UFC 227. Promotion president Dana White said that Alexander Gustafsson, who was to become Rokhold's rival, will receive a new opponent for battle on the upcoming show.
"We need to find a new rival for Alexander Gustafsson. We will leave Gustafsson on the card of the UFC 227 and find him another worthy opponent. As you know, Rokhold suffered a leg injury and will be able to return only at the end of the year," White said.
31-year-old Gustafsson last fought last May, when he knocked Glover Teixeira out in his native Stockholm.
