Russian Alexander Povetkin shared his opinion on the transition from professional boxing to MMA.

- The fights between athletes from different kinds of combats, for example, MMA against boxing, are gaining popularity. Would you like to take part in such an event?

- This story is not interesting to me. I like MMA as a sport, I practice it a little, train, but take part in it... I'll fight in my sport, and there's simply no reason to go somewhere.

- What do you think about Floyd Mayweather, who is going to get a license of an MMA fighter?

- I do not think about him at all. Well, what can I think of him? But in general, I do not think that Mayweather really will go to MMA - even for the fight with McGregor. He simply doesn't need it. McGregor went to boxing purely for money. I think there are several boxers, for example, Manny Pacquiao... although not, there are quite a few of them - boxers who would have figured out McGregor much earlier than Mayweather did. If the duel, of course, goes according to the rules of boxing.
