UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway volunteered to replace injured Tony Ferguson in a duel with Khabib Nurmagomedov, but was not allowed to fight for medical reasons. Now the 26-year-old Hawaiian is focused on a duel against Brian Ortega, but does not rule out that in the near future he will return to the variant with a fight against Khabib.

"Dana White called me after the fight and said: "It's all right, at least we tried. Thank you for trying." Now Bryan Ortega is in line. I hope, we will fight him at the July tournament. I need to deal with the affairs in my division, but if the leadership wants to organize a fight with Khabib in lightweights, I'll just be for it.

"As White said, we need to deal with Brian Ortega. He did not name the date of the fight, but I hope it will be July, because in November I want to perform in New York at Madison Square Garden," Holloway said.
