Russia will take Usyk-Gassiev fight in case of Saudi Arabia refusal

The finale of World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) between Russian Murat Gassiev and Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk in Russia is possible if Saudi Arabia does not undertake its commitments. This was stated by Secretary General of the Russian Boxing Federation Umar Kremlev.

"We made our proposal. If Saudi Arabia is not ready, then the right to conduct will be handed to us. So far, even the conditions under which athletes and participants can go to Saudi Arabia are not clear. The conduct of such a duel in Russia will cost approximately $20-25 million - this is the entire organization and athletes' purses," said Kremlev.

Gassiev - Usyk finale is scheduled in the city of Jeddah on May 11. At the moment, both athletes are preparing for the fight.
