WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua expects that the fight with WBA mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin will be postponed until next year.
"Of course, I would prefer to meet Wilder, so if Povetkin can wait until 2019, it will be perfect. When you own a lot of titles, it becomes a problem, because you need to follow the rules of each organization. That's why somebody wants to have just one title and one heavyweight champion. We are working in this direction, wishing to fight Wilder.
"Nevertheless, titles have official contenders, and Povetkin is one of them. I hope he can wait. If not, then I do not see any reason to abandon this belt. So if I need to meet Povetkin - so be it," said Joshua.
