Nurmagomedov: Holloway took this fight because of money

UFC lightweight challenger Khabib Nurmagomedov expressed confidence that Max Holloway agreed to take the fight with him six days before the tournament solely because of financial motivation.

"I fight for my heritage, not for money. All the fighters are different. If UFC has problems, then this is their problem. Why take the fight on six days notice? I wouldn't do that. Holloway is fighting for money, but I respect him. Aloha, Max! He is featherweight champion.

"I'm not going to underestimate this guy. He is on a series of twelve wins and is one of the strongest fighters who have ever competed in UFC. I do not even think that this fight will be easier for me than with Ferguson. If Holloway fought Tony, he would have caused him big problems," Nurmagomedov said.
