Kovalev: After Mikhalkin fight I'll be waiting for unification

WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev shared his expectations on the fight with the IBO title holder Igor Mikhalkin, and also told about future plans after the fight.

"It will be an interesting meeting, because we are both Russians. We have the same mentality, and we do not take step back. I'm going to fight and go forward. I think that Mikhalkin has the same plan. He's good and very motivated boxer. He never fought with a real champion, and I think that we are waiting for a class fight.

"I need another bout to show that I can fight the best. I think after meeting with Mikhalkin, I will have a strong opponent. Perhaps I will have a unification fight. I do not want to look behind Mikhalkin's back, because my next fight is with him and I should be focused on this", said Kovalev.
