Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir shared his thoughts on the fight against Fedor Emelianenko in the quarterfinals of the Bellator Grand Prix. The meeting of these fighters will will take place on April 28 in Rosemont, USA.
"This is a very difficult battle. Fedor Emelianenko is still a phenomenal fighter. He is still a speedy one and has not lost his striking power. Even when Fedor hit Mitrione, he was on the ground. I mean, it's not that he's gotten worse over time, but other fighters have become better.
"Of all the possible rivals in the quarterfinals, I wanted to meet Emelianenko most. Fedor did not spend a lot of fights with opponents who are at my level in grappling. In fights with Nogueira he managed to avoid the submissives, and the battle with Verdum did not end well for him," Mir declared.
