The current UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic will defend his title against the organization's light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. The meeting will headline UFC 226 tournament, scheduled for July 7 in Las Vegas.

This will be the Super final of the 27th season of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter, where the two champions will train lightweights and featherweights.

On January 20, at the UFC 220 tournament in Boston, Miocic overcame the formidable puncher Francis Ngannou and thus defended his title for the third time, which was a new record for the organization. Cormier within the same show confirmed the legitimacy of his belt, without any problems having overcome Volkan Ozdemir.
