President of Bellator Scott Cocker talked about the future of the legendary Russian fighter Fedor Emelianenko, who will meet the American Frank Mir on April 21 as part of the Bellator Grand Prix at the Heavyweights.
"Fighters have been participated for 30 years in Grand Prix, and Fedor should not fight for the last twenty, as he did before. This tournament is perfect for him. He himself wanted to take part in it. Fedor told me that he understands that he is at the end of his career, but he wants to take part in the tournament and become the champion in the heavyweight division. We have included him in the Grand Prix with great respect.
"Fedor has not yet made a decision regarding the ending of his career, but I would not be surprised if he quits the sport after winning the heavyweights tournament. But if he lose in his nearest fight to Mir, then this may be the reason for announcing the end of his career," Coker said in an interview with Yahoo Sports.
