Two-time Olympic champion 36-year-old Zou Shiming from China can finish his career due to problems with vision. Doctors suspect a detached retina of the left eye of the Chinese athlete.

On the professional ring Shiming got 9 wins and 2 defeats. Last November Shiming  managed to become the world champion in flyweight at the second attempt, but this July Zou lost the title to Japanese Sho Kimura in his first defense.

The career of the Chinese boxer until this summer was built by the American promotion company Top Rank, and Shiming trained under the guidance of the famous coach Freddie Roach. Shiming was supposed to be a "pass" for the promoter Bob Arum on the 1.5-billion Chinese sports market. In his native country Zou enjoyed tremendous popularity.

This week because of vision problems former world champion Evgene Gradovich ended his career also.

Because of the detached retina former world champion the famous heavyweight Lamon Brewster almost completely lost his sight in the left eye.
