Swedish super middleweight Erik Skoglund was woken from his medically-induced coma by doctors and is now conscious. Skoglund continues to remain in the intensive care unit, but the threat to his life is no longer there. The former boxer breathes on his own and responds to instructions. The next few days he will have a series of tests that will determine what health consequences will be of his injury, which he received on one of the sparring in December.

One and a half weeks ago Skoglund was rushed to one of the Swedish hospitals after he got sick after sparring in Nyköping, where he conducted his training. Skoglund was put into a medically-induced coma, and was operated to stop bleeding on his brain.
