Middleweight prospect Jason Quigley (13-0, 10 KOs) passed the toughest test of his career thus far, outlasting Glen Tapia (23-4, 15 KOs) over ten rounds to earn the vacant NABF middleweight title in the main event of the debut telecast of Golden Boy Boxing on ESPN. Scores were probably a little wide, at 98-92, 99-91, and 100-90, as Tapia could arguably have taken at least three or four rounds.

Tapia looked to be in trouble early, almost going down from a Quigley right to the body in round two before regaining his balance. Both fighters traded bombs in round three, making it appear likely that someone would end the fight early. However the fast pace of the early rounds took its toll on both fighters, with the action slowing down considerably over the second half of the fight.
