"You should have fought in February." Holloway criticized Makhachev

Former UFC lightweight champion Max Holloway has spoken harshly about Islam Makhachev, who holds the title in the division above him.

"Islam said our fight doesn't make sense. Brother, you yourself were supposed to face Gatji in February. Why did the guy you knocked out come back into action so quickly and was ready to fight again in February? And you were healthy, you should have been back in February too.

Yeah, everybody knows you can't fight in Ramadan. That's why he won't be making an appearance at UFC 300. But complaining about not getting fights? You only fight when you want to, when it's convenient for you! You just don't take fights for different reasons, something is always there all the time. If Makhachev wanted to, he would have returned to the octagon in February," Holloway said in an interview with Demetrious Johnson's YouTube channel.
