Jack Della Maddalena, the former UFC welterweight champion, said he believes he can eventually share the Octagon again with current titleholder Islam Makhachev.
“Of course, I needed a few days to reset and deal with the disappointment. It probably still hurts a little. Everything is pretty clear — I know what I need to work on to get back where I need to be. I want to return, and hopefully I’ll get another chance to fight Islam in the future, but we’ll see how it all plays out. I’m confident he can be beaten. Anybody can be beaten. Yeah, I’d gladly fight him again,” Della Maddalena told ESPN.
Makhachev defeated Della Maddalena by unanimous decision in November of last year.
