Former UFC flyweight champion Cody Garbrandt has spoken out about the looming fight between current titleholder Sean O'Malley and Merab Dvalishvili.
"Let's be honest, O'Malley didn't beat Petr Yan. He was given that win. The fight with Sterling... I think Aljamain moved back to lightweight too quickly. Those transitions have taken a toll on him. The UFC wants champions to fight all the time.
I think the fight against Merab will be pretty interesting. Let's see how legitimate Shawn's title is. Will he be able to take a takedown? Can he go the whole distance in a dynamic fight?", - quotes the American MMA Mania.
Recall that Garbrandt himself will fight Merab Dvalishvili on April 13 at the UFC 300 show.
