Arum explained why the Beterbiev - Bivol fight could not be organized earlier

The authoritative American promoter Bob Arum said that the fight for the title of absolute world champion in the flyweight division between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol became real only now, because before there was no money to organize it.

"If you take the bout between Beterbiev and Bivol, before it could not be organized either in Russia or in the United States. Nobody could find the necessary money to organize this fight. From an economic point of view, this fight would not have brought in enough money to cover the costs of it.

But Saudi Arabia didn't really worry about that. They realized it was a great fight and they wanted to make it happen. Thanks to them, we're going to get, in my opinion, a huge and good fight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship bantamweight title on June 1 in Riyadh," Arum said in an interview with YouTube channel BoxNation.

Beterbiev vs. Bivol is expected to take place on June 1 in the Saudi capital of Riyadh.
