Javier Mendes, head coach of AKA Hall and mentor to UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, has spoken out about his charge's possible bout with Dustin Porier.
"If the opponent is Dustin, it's fantastic. If Justin Gaethje, that's fantastic too. But from my point of view, it will be quicker for Puryear to be free. That's why our fight is so talked about. I'm two hands in favor of Dustin - he's healthy, he's a great fighter, a great person. And the circumstances for the fight Makhachev and Puryear - just ideal," - said Mendes on the air of his podcast.
Recall that in his last fight Puryear knocked out in the second round of a promising lightweight from France Benoit Saint-Denis.
