Muhammad: "I don't believe Edwards was offered fights with Chimaev and Rakhmonov"

UFC American welterweight Belal Muhammad commented on promotion head Dana White's recent statement that the division's champion Leon Edwards was offered three different opponents at the UFC 300 tournament, and all three times the Briton agreed to the fight.

"I know they offered the fight to Makhachev, and I know Islam turned it down. But I don't believe they offered this fight to Rakhmonov because Shavkat is injured, and I don't believe they offered it to Hamzat because he won't make the weight.

I think this was said to create hype around Edwards. Leon doesn't do social media, doesn't do interviews, doesn't promote himself. Dana White is a promoter and he has to promote the guy himself! But if they really wanted him at UFC 300, they know they could call me and I would say yes," Muhammad told SiriusXM.

Edwards last fought at UFC 296 in December, defeating Colby Covington by unanimous decision.
