Joseph Parker's promoter: 'Joseph should beat Joshua in the title race'

David Higgins, promoter of WBO interim heavyweight champion Joseph Parker, has expressed his belief that his client should get an earlier chance to fight for the full belt than former division leader Anthony Joshua.

"Parker is the interim WBO champion, which means he automatically becomes the mandatory challenger. So if the rules are followed, he should be offered a championship fight soon. I'd like to think so.

No disrespect to Joshua, he's looked great in his last few fights, but the guy has been fighting low level opponents. His opponents are far from the level that Joseph is performing at. So Parker really should be ahead of Joshua right now. However, that's the way things work in boxing now, even if you beat the best, you have to be patient," Sky Sports quoted Higgins as saying.
