McGregor doesn't want to fight Chandler for five rounds

Former UFC two-weight champion Conor McGregor expects his bout with Michael Chandler to be a three-round bout.

Earlier, the star Irishman, who has not stepped into the octagon since July 2021, said he had reached an agreement with the promotion for a return in the summer.

"Right now I'm doing really well going the three-round distance. And instead of aiming for five, I feel like if I start stressing now to do five full rounds, the first three won't be as effective as I could make them. So I'd rather focus on training for the first three rounds and come into the fight fresh and ready.

I feel like Chandler is going to attack me, so I need to be ready for him to come in close and try to engage me. That's his style, so I think three rounds is the best option," MMA Fighting quoted McGregor as saying.
