McGregor doesn't want to fight Chandler for five rounds

Former UFC champion in two weight categories Conor McGregor expects that his fight with Michael Chandler will consist of three rounds.

Earlier, the star Irishman, who has not stepped into the octagon since July 2021, said he had reached an agreement with the promotion to return in the summer.

"Right now I'm doing really well going the three-round distance. And instead of aiming for five, I feel like if I start stressing now to do five full rounds, the first three won't be as effective as I could make them. So I'd rather focus on training for the first three rounds and come into the fight fresh and ready.

I feel like Chandler is going to attack me, so I need to be ready for him to come in close and try to engage me. That's his style, so I think three rounds is the best option," MMA Fighting quoted McGregor as saying.
