Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor has retracted his words that his bout with Michael Chandler will take place within the middleweight division.
The Irish star announced the day before that his fight with the American is scheduled for the summer.
"What weight is the fight going to be at? When I said middleweight, it was such a little joke. In fact, I haven't stepped on the scale since the last time I weighed in before the UFC. And that was quite a while ago," McGregor said in an interview with ESPN.
Recall that 35-year-old McGregor has not appeared in the octagon since July 2021, when he lost by technical knockout to Dustin Puryear. In that fight Conor suffered a severe leg fracture.
