Jiri Prochazka, former UFC light heavyweight champion, has revealed how he got frostbite while hiking in the mountains of Nevada.
"... I made the mistake of not paying enough attention to the map. The map indicated the hike would only take a few hours, so I assumed it would be a short drive. After walking for six hours at high altitude, I realized I was in trouble and had to either turn back or walk to the end of the trail. Despite my best efforts, it took me over 16-18 hours to complete the hike. I forgot to bring my headlamp, thinking it would be a short hike. As a result, I got lost in the mountains. I returned home and the next day I noticed that my toe on my left foot was slightly blackened. I had to suffer from frostbite, but it's gone now. However, it took a few months for my toenail to fall out and grow new ones, as well as some time for me to regain my balance on my foot," Low Lick MMA quoted Prochazka as saying.
