Peter Yan, former UFC lightweight champion, refused to sign a new contract with the organization, designed for 6 fights. This was reported by a representative of his team. It also became known that Jan refused to sign a new agreement because of not too good conditions that he was offered by the promotion.

"Petr was indeed offered to sign a new contract for six fights. But the conditions in it were not the ones we would like. It was decided not to sign this contract," says the representative.

In his last fight, Yang won a judges' decision over Song Yadong at UFC 299, which took place on March 10. The win snapped a streak of three straight losses.
