Vettori injured, fight with Allen canceled

The bout between Marvin Vettori and Brendan Allen that was supposed to headline UFC Fight Night 240 has been canceled. According to sources close to the situation, Vettori suffered an injury, the nature of which is unknown, that forced him to withdraw from the bout. It is also reported that the promotion is unlikely to have time to find Allen a new opponent, so he too is off the card for the upcoming tournament.

Brendan Allen has already had time to react to the news, writing the following post on social media:

"I was ready for anything! I'm now number five in the world, so who above me is going to fight anytime soon?", Allen wrote on social media, tagging Jared Cannonier, Robert Whittaker and Israel Adesanya.
