Mauricio Sulaiman, head of the World Boxing Council (WBC), announced that his organization is ready to sanction a bout between Anthony Joshua and the winner of the Usik-Fury pairing.

"The WBC was asked to sanction an absolute championship bout and the WBC agreed. We agreed to the rematch that was questioned. If there are no problems with contracts or promoters, we will absolutely agree to Joshua fighting the winner of this fight," Sky Sports quoted Suleiman as saying.

The fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury will take place on May 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. At stake in this confrontation will be the title of absolute world champion in the heavyweight division.
