Almabayev explained why he was preparing for fights in the United States and not in Kazakhstan

Asu Almabaev, a UFC lightweight division fighter, explained why he prefers to prepare for his fights in the U.S. rather than in Kazakhstan.

"Because of the special attention, we try to train in the States, away from home, so that no birthdays and weddings distract us. Even when we are in Almaty, we don't let ourselves go too much, remembering the date of the fight. We are no longer 20-25 years old and we have gone through what we had to go through, through all the ups and downs," Almabayev said.

Asu Almabaev has already made a successful debut in the UFC, winning by submission over Ode Osborne at UFC On ESPN 50, which took place last August. Almabaev will make his second fight in the league on March 10 at UFC 299, facing C.J. Vergara in the octagon.
