Former interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Puryear revealed why he dismissed the idea of moving up to a heavier category.
"These guys are just huge. A few times in my UFC career I thought maybe I would move up to welterweight, but then I'd find myself in a gym full of welterweights and I'd say no, I can't do that. They're going to be 14 pounds heavier than me in the octagon. I'm even surrounded by lightweights who are much bigger than me on the scales," Puryear said in an interview with Demetrious Johnson.
Recall, in the next weekend Puryear will compete with the French finisher Benoit Saint-Denis. The fight will take place at the tournament UFC 299 in Miami, USA.
