Former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker explained why he's not interested in a fight with Hamzat Chimaev at this stage of his career.
"A fight with Chimaev won't do anything for me. It's a high-profile fight, but it won't move me higher in the rankings. I want to fight top-five fighters, and a win over Sean Strickland would make me a top contender again. That's as close to a title fight as you can get.
It's just about getting the belt back. My goal is unchanged. But since Dricus Du Plessis has the title, I can kill two birds with one stone, which sounds good," - quotes the Australian MMA Junkie.
Recall, on February 17, in the framework of the tournament UFC 298 in Anaheim, USA, Whittaker defeated Paulo Costa by unanimous decision of judges.
