Khabib: "I told Makhachev before the fight that Porier would try to guillotine me"

Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov shared his memories of his fight with Dustin Puryear.

Recall, in September 2019, the Dagestani defeated the American with a choke hold in the third round and retained the championship title.

"Porier tried to strangle me. What's interesting is that I told Islam Makhachev before the fight, 'Dustin will do a guillotine with his right hand. I want to fall with him next to the cage and give him the neck. To make Porier tired." I said this to Islam right in the locker room before the fight.

The first time I gave Porier the position, but he didn't take the neck. And the second time, in the third round, he took my neck and tried to choke me out. And every time he was close to succeeding, I moved my body. I made him tired. And after 30 seconds, I felt like I broke him. It's very hard to explain to people who don't do MMA," MMA Junkie quoted Khabib as saying.
