Nikolai Kovalchuk, President of WBC Ukraine commented on the fact that the President of the WBC World Federation Mauricio Suleiman is ready to sanction a fight between a friend of dictator Ramzan Kadyrov Artur Beterbiev and Russian Dmitry Bivol, who recently received a Kyrgyz passport without much publicity. According to Kovalchuk, Suleiman had no choice.

“Mauricio held the blow for 3 years. But you must understand one simple thing. Any boxing organization significantly depends on promoters and television broadcasters. The existence of the organization depends on relations with them. Now almost all promoters depend heavily on the Arabs. Because most of the high-paying fights take place there. Mauricio immediately made it clear to me that there were no other options. Time passes, he was simply presented with the fact that this fight must be carried out...,” the functionary said.

Let us remind you that earlier there were rumors that the fight between Bivol and Beterbiev, in which the title of absolute world light heavyweight champion would be at stake, could take place in June.
