UFC head Dana White expressed the opinion that the promotion's former dominant welterweight champion Kamaru Usman doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
“Anderson Silva never said, 'I need to protect my legacy, I don't want to fight this fighter and lose like that.' He doesn't have that mentality. If someone claimed that he was stronger than Silva, then Anderson would say: “Give me that guy.”
The same can be said about Kamaru Usman. He fought with guys from his division in the second round. Kamaru doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Fans don't appreciate him enough. He never turned down fights. He took all the tough fights, including Colby Covington,” White said in an interview with the Maxx Crosby YouTube channel.
